Spring Update

Jim Galasso: Yeah, yeah, yeah. I'm on it.

After a long winter's nap, we'll be starting up the blog again for the spring Challenge Cup run. Two games into the group stage, AC United Maroon is sitting at the top of Bracket C in a dead tie with Harleysville FC. The winner of this weekend's match will advance.

This past weekend, the boys turned in a strong 5-0 win in the group stage against a Yardley Makefield team that played down a man, with no subs, for lack of players from the first minute of the match. It was a busy weekend for the team, wrapping up the YSC indoor regular season and also playing a Rock League match Sunday afternoon.

The weekend prior, Maroon notched a 3-1 victory against Lower Merion, preserving the win despite playing down a man for most of the second half after Harry H. was sent off.

Game reports this spring will not be as epic as they were this fall - sorry, Jim, I've got a day job to look after - but I'll be keeping stats and posting reports for the rest of the Challenge Cup run. A reminder to parents that if you're taking game pictures, this would be a great place to post them. Just send me an e-mail.
